Veggies for All: a food assistance program in allegheny county

The Building Block of Natrona uses donations from local individuals, businesses and grant programs to bring fresh produce directly into Natrona for free distribution to residents. Natrona does not have have a food distribution center in the neighborhood. With the closest grocery nearly two miles away, the nearest bus stop about two miles away and some residents without access to transportation, Natrona truly is a food desert.
The monthly program generally offers 3-5 products (sometimes more) per adult resident at no cost from the Knights of Columbus hall at 28 Garfield Street (our ongoing thanks to KOC Council 2602) for allowing use of their building.
While most families are from Natrona, residents from other communities are also welcome. Bring a bag! Bring a friend!
We also provide fresh produce each month to residents of the nearby Brackenridge Hall Apartments through this program.
